With the release of Skyrim Special Edition (also known as Skyrim SE), the PC platform’s legendary modding scene finally reached consoles, enabling players with no prior modding experience to enjoy the endless creations fans of Bethesda’s crowning achievement continue to put together. If an elderly lady can make a YouTube career out of playing a completely unmodified version for years, the possibilities for adventure truly are boundless once you start experimenting with player-created content. And the existence of countless mods only continues to create more reasons to stay. Its sprawling open world is filled to the brim with dungeons to explore, characters to kill, and guilds to impress. Closing in on its 10th anniversary, tens of thousands of players continue to quest around it every day. Don’t love it alone.The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is a game that just keeps on giving. No More Blocky Faces – This mod fixes the norm maps so that faces look smoother, but it doesn’t change any of the actual face textures so you still have the nasty vanilla skin complexion. The makeup is a little too bold for my taste, though. Close up, it was fine – far away, and my character looked like a plastic figurine.Ĭoverwomen – This mod gives your character a nice, pristine look. Women of Skyrim – This mod also adds a more realistic skin texture but it made my characters look a little too worn, like they were on an all-night bender :)īella’s Better Females – This mod gives your character a pristine face texture but I found it to be too flat and fake looking. I think it’s a great balance of realistic yet fresh. * SG Face Textures Renewal – I love this face texture for a more realistic effect.
My only complaint is that the lips are really glossy and there is no built-in matte option.
I like that this texture makes your characters look very Final Fantasy-esque, but I know that’s not for everyone. * Univision Face – This is my favorite face texture for females.
